My first boat was a 1970 18' Pachanga. Single 225 hp 327 Chevy/MerCruiser II outdrive.
They made this as the first generation Pachanga in 1969, 1970 and 1971. It was also offered with a 455 Olds/Berkeley jet drive.
After 1971 the model name was dropped until 1986 with the emergence of the 22' Pachanga II. Then in 1987 came a 19', 22' and 32' version. The 19' was dropped for 1989 and a single and twin version were offered of a 27' starting in 1989.
I believe the last Pachangas were built in 1991, as I can't find anything newer in my archives.
Sea Ray's brief foray into the performance boat market was less than successful enough for them to keep marketing Pachangas. Many felt the first generation Pachanga was years ahead of its time in styling and performance.
I recently surveyed and sea trialed a 22' Pachanga with a big block and a Bravo 1. It was a joy to drive, really performed well and felt solid.
I don't remember surveying a 19', 27' or a 32', but I'll check my records for you.

I owned a 1989 27 Pachanga with T/merc 350mags (270hp), back in summer 89. Nice sport boat. I only had her the summer (3 months), and got the itch for an offshore style boat. Purchased a 1990 F-311 Formula T/454mags (375hp) on Sep 1989. For me thats where it all started the 27 Pachanga.

I have no real complaints with my 27' besides the lack of speed. With everything perfect she will work her way up to 60 with twin 350 mags/270hp approx. 850hrs. They are definitely a heavy boat, but brake the chop nicely and have a decent amount of cabin space.

Back in the late 90's my first boat was an '87 22 II with a 350mag. If I remember correctly it was around 60-61 on gps. I loved that boat, very fun for my first boat and actually wish I could find one for couple grand that needs a new engine that I could do myself. Ahh the good times.

I bought a 19 ft pachanga back in 1976 that was 2 years old.The boat was purchased at Montrose harbor in chicago from the VP of Johnson&Johnson. I payed 5000 thousand for it back then. The boat had 460 hp Ford power plant with

1972 19ft Sea Ray Pachanga
Bought it used in 1976 from the VP of Johnson&Johnson in Chicago for 5000 dollars. color was white with a grape fruit color interior, and a black racing stripe off centered on the bow. The boat had a 460 hp ford engine, and a Berckly jet, Hydrolic trim tabs. Boat drafted 18 inches,and a 30 gallon fuel tank. came with a tandom axil trailer with serge brakes. A very heavy, but stable boat. Top speed 74 mph,and would seat six adults. For its time that was a very fast and sexy boat. I was told by SeaRay engineers in Florida that it was a proto type, and they wanted to know how i got the boat, and asked to drive it, they told me how rare the boat was, and how lucky i was to own it, this was in 1979.iam sorry that I sold it, Now I have 2 Bahas
