Too Intercool Or Not Too Intercool
 

REBUILDING ENGINES, CURRENTLY HAVE INTERCOOLERS, DON T THINK THEY ARE WORTH THE PROBLEMS THEY CAN CREATE....

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?:eureka:

I wouldn't consider NOT intercooling myself. Too much benefit from the coolers in my 02.

Keep the coolers.

WHAT WERE THEY ON HP WISE?

Cooler is better !!!!!!!!

Keep the coolers or you will be sorry. Heat is your biggest enemy.

I would Keep the Intercoolers.

I think I would stay with the "problem" of the intercooler. The problem without the intercooler will be a bigger problem & you will be rebuilding the engine again.

That said what is your problem with intercooler? Hoses, leaks or ???

I might be interested in buying those "problem" intrcoolers from you !!

Seriously........What kind of "problems" do they present ?

it just they werent maintained as well as i would have, and one is leaking, plus i seen what a leaking one does, shoots a rod thru the block

Keep the coolers, they help keep pistons and valve seats alive, in addition the ambient air temperature will have a HUGE effect on performance, you won't take the boat off the trailer on hot days. JD

Do you boat more than 1/4mile drag race.

Just like has been posted previous, the air charge temperature is dramatically reduced. In turn a much more efficient "burn" is created.

I would keep the coolers unless you just love to do rebuilds:);)

Don't know why they started leaking. I have had intecoolers for the last 25years & just retired my old ones last year since going with a different setup.

I'M KEEPING THEM.........THANKS GUYS
