N Y Boat Show "How Is It?"
 

How is the show this year?

Is it worth the trip? Or should I wait for A.C.?

I noticed the show getting smaller as years pass.

What Performance Boat Manufacturers attended this year?:confused:

AC will have much more in the performance boats than NY... NY is more for cruisers... I didn't go this year, my buddy did and said there was fountain, donzi, checkmate and I believe cigarette.... AC is much better... if you can, go to Miami.... For the East Coast, it's fabulous and it's warm!!! Great OSO party last year!!!

I am just as curious as you! I guess know one went. Normally, that show was packed 10 day's straight. Always sold more units the second weekend. Wendsday was known as Dr.'s day and all the big guns would shop then to avoid the mass crowds.

If the show is suffering that badly, maybe the N.M.M.A. should hire a new marketing director. The show used to draw from three states. I could always count on meeting folks from NY, NJ, CT.

I hope someone can enlighten us as to the shows performance this year!:confused:

We went on Thursday and it was a waste of time...

No Cigs but Outerlimits , Donzi , Checkmate , Fountain and Powerquest had some boats.

Definitely a show geared more towards family type boats / cruisers.

I was quite curious as to see what was going to happen being as they moved the show right into the Holidays. :confused:

After the holiday shopping and all, I am not quite ready to be doing more just yet.:rolleyes:

Went yesterday. Better than working, but not a great show at all.
Anyone else that went notice how many ski / wakeboard boats they had there this year? What was up with that?

when is miami...is that THE show to see on the east coast or is there better??

There is nothing better than Miami. :)

Ft. Lauderdale would come in a close 2nd.

Atlantic City 3rd.

A. C. has been growing. Now whether this is good or bad? NMMA has bought the Atlantic City show from what I am told. I felt Jay was doing a good job with the show. He took it from nothing and brought it to what it is today. The future of AC is yet to be seen.
It may end up being what New York used to be or better.
Let's all hope A.C. becomes the largest performance boat show in the North East. :cool:

When is the AC boat show this year? Also, is there a date set for Skaterfest? I plan to be there this year with my 21. Hope the weather is better.

A.C. is the weekend of Feb 8th and I questioned the Skaterfest date earlier in the week, just waiting for a reply back...;)

February 5 - 9, 2003 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ.

We're going down Saturday to see the Sonics at East Coast Marine brokers and then staying over and attending show on Sunday... Hopefully Sunday won't be so packed!!!!

Anyone know of a good place to stay that is reasonably priced??

The Atlantic City boat show is building to be one of the biggest performance shows on the east coast.

There will be Cigarette, Outerlimits, Fountain, Formula, Black Thunder, Nor-Tech, Sonic, Skater, Sunsation, Kryptonite and Baja will be at the show.

The NJPPC will have its booth by the Donzi display, stop by and pick up our yearly poster.

Dave and I will be there all 4 days at the Typhoon Performance Marine booth Feb-6th through Feb-9th. Hopefully we will see everyone there.

I am told that Sonic will not be at the show in AC this year....

I was wondering when Sunsation would start entering this show.... surprised that they haven't been there yet.....

East Coast isn't bringing Sonic? Last year Sunsation was there (Extreme Offshore) they also had a 36 Skater and a 38 Hustler

Now that I think about it, we went to the Miami show last year and didn't get to AC.... Yes, I was told by Jim Ritchi, I believe that is what his name is that sonic won't be there.... We're going to stop by their showroom on the way into town.... have to see the sonics, one way or another.... they have a beautiful 31 there, we're just not ready to buy... just sold my trailer, have to move a boat and trailer and a 93 bmw, put up a garage, if it ever warms up.... then we can shop for our 31... I want the 35, but it's just out of our price range... way out..... but it's my favorite......
