E-bay surfing...
Did a little surfing on E-bay tonight... some interesting stuff.
1985 (?) 36' Scarab, looks to be completely redone: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=26432 2001 Sunsation 32' Dominator, single blown 496. Interesting... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=26432 Another Scarab, this one a 1980. Could be a nice project.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=26432 Hmmm... 1985 12 Meter Excalibur. Description says "THIS IS A 100K BOAT IN AS IS COND" yet the "Buy it now" option is for $35K. What a steal... the rigging in the engine compartment looks a tad rough... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=26432 1995 Donzi Blackhawk - no pic of the drive, so you can't tell if it's got a Blackhawk drive or a B1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31271 And now for something completely different... 1989 Banshee Advantage picklefork.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31271 And finally, a 2000 Wellcraft Scarab Clone. Definitely some horsepower in the stereo, however. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31271 |
Check out the '85 Scarab, specifically the dash where it says.........
"This Boat Runs on Gas, Not Thanks!" That's a keeper |
The 85 scarab looks nice, but I'm not too sure about their description. I've never heard a Scarab III called a 36', but it's always called a 34'. As for top speed, I've got a friend with one powered by 600+HP 510's and it will do low 70's. It's a heavy boat with a great ride, but it takes a lot to get it going fast. The ad says that with its 454 mags, it's capable of 70 trimmed out. Ummm... is that on the trailer??
|
Hey Bill, you know you have to trim the drives way up when it's on the trailer :)
|
they got some brass one to put team scarab down the side of that cruiser.
|
Alot of people wanting to rid themselves of their boats???? Is that to get e new one or what..
|
Puder ..what you talkin about Crusier!!!! yep sure looks like a Scarab -III to me.... 70's with a 454...I don't think so... my 83 has 1996 502's. and she will only break in to the low 60's with a good tail wind!!!.... heavy boat great rough water.... can't wait to try my YORK labbed props....

I dont think the scarab III's were that bad
slow sort of yes, due to weight but ride quality is hard to beat due to the weight. I dont know about the 50 grand though that seems high to me 35 more in the realm I would think 180K for newer one, well yeah and you get twin 500 HP's or more, headers, hydraulic steering, and a trailer that does not look like the tongue is going to fall off does that look bent to you? what does that thing weigh in at with the trailer, about 14K lbs? 3dmc i was reffering to the "Scarab Clone"
i like the scarab III. As a matrter of fact I bought one 2 years ago. The deal went south unfortunatly. At least I got my deposit back. |
I'm with Puder on the Scarab Clone. In fact, the more I look at that thing, the more it looks like a Baja.
