OT: Online music

I know this has been covered in the past, but I know how quickly things change in cyberspace.

I just bought a cd burner, and want to start recording downloaded music. What are the sites out there now that offer free and pay songs?? Ease of use ?? Etc......Etc......

Thanks for any help.....:D :D

Definately go to KAZAA. It's a great source and is where most of my and my roomates music comes from!

Outlawcowgirl 01-14-2003 03:08 PM

My choice is WINMX. It has no spyware.

HyperBaja 01-14-2003 03:10 PM

Kazaa Lite.

Ive used limewire for years. Works just fine for me. It will load some spyware, but just download and run ad aware @ http://www.lavasoft.de and remove it. Program will run fine without it.

Risk taker dont listen to all of these old people ya have to down load from morpheus it has a huge selection of all types of music

HyperBaja 01-14-2003 05:11 PM

Old? I bet I'm younger. Morpheus flat out sucks since it joined on the Gnutella network.

little princess 01-14-2003 05:27 PM

ya baha you are old and ive been on morphius for 2 yrs now and to download music from the computer to a cd ya just need to know how to change the wave file

HyperBaja 01-14-2003 05:33 PM

How old are you, 13? You gotta be around there for me to seem old. Child I was on Morpheus two years ago to. I was on Napster before everyone knew about the legal mess. It is not changing the .wav file that is a pain, but rather there being no file resume, the gnutella worm (everywhere), not being able to download from multiple users and plus all the users are way to many for the bandwith Gnutella has.

Kazaa Lite is the best you can get now (in my opinion).

little princess 01-14-2003 05:49 PM

What is the gnutella worm and whats the site for Kazzaa lite

Risk Taker 01-14-2003 06:14 PM

Hey Audio and Hyper....

What's the ease of use for Kazaa Lite?? I'm just starting out with this whole "burnin'" thing, and don't want to spend all my time with too much figuring, if you know what I mean......

Let's see... you want some software, you don't want to pay for it, and you want to download it to the computer. Hmmmmm.

:eureka: I know! Search for it on Morpheus! :eureka:

Try it, it works
:D :D :D

RT: Kazaa Lite is as easy as any other software to use, but you don't get a bunch of spyware/spamware installed on the computer that slows it down.

It is a piece of cake to use. Just download it, load it, open it and waite for it to hook up/connect. Once it does that click on the search icon, and then put a title into the search field. Once you see what you want click on it. You will see a small change in the logo to the left. If you want to see the progress go to traffic part and you will be all set. If you right click on the traffic field you can see a list of options there as well. Good luck

"Quote"

In the past few months, many people have replaced the original Kazaa software with Kazaa Lite, an ad-free version created by a hacker who isn't affiliated with a company and hasn't given out enough information about himself to be named in a lawsuit.

He calls himself "Yuri" and lives in yet another country -- Russia.
