Poker Runs. What attracts you?...

OK, here’s my rookie two cents – in order of importance.
* Socializing with the other boaters/OSO/SCOPE.
* Checking out the other boats.
* The start! Art, that is such a rush.
* The helicopter pictures and the video. The professional video was so worth it!
The stuff that’s always a part of poker runs that I really don’t care about.
* The cost. Come on, if you can afford a boat, what’s a hundred dollars one way or the other. Considering how much volunteer time is evolved running these things – don’t squeeze these guys on costs!!!!!!!!!!!!
* The charity part. I try to build charity into my personal budget as a priority each year. I don’t do poker runs, golf tournaments, etc. to back into my obligation to society. I’m certainly ok with it, just a little confused why it would be a priority at these events.
* The gambling. It’s fun but not a priority. I’ve never won a nickel and it’s never stopped me.
* The T shirts. Much rather have a high quality polo shirt that I would actually wear.

Thanks for all the insight. Definaltly giving us something to think about. We are going to have one water stop and one beach stop. It would be nice to not have to deal with cards at all and take care of it all when we get to the finish. But then there would be no reason to stop at a drive by stop of there was nothing to pick up. Somethings to ponder, thanks guys.

And how do you determine the winner? The grins on gentleman's faces?
hot water, you're taking all this down, right? I won't tow to CA, but I'll darn sure fly out and put in some gas money. All in $1 bills..
