So where do you think Schwartz is going to put that $72M?

West Marine is pretty prominent in the mid west. They suck, they are way over priced and most of the stuff in their stores caters to mainly sail boats instead of performance boats.

I used BoatUS a couple of times through mail order, the most recent a custom sunbrella mooring cover for a 29 Outlaw. I was very pleased with their quality and service, even though BoatUS used an outside company to manufacture the cover, they still did a great job. I just hope West Marine doesn't mess up a good thing.

Maybe between the two of them, they can find some employees who have a clue. Hiring kids to stock the shelves at Walmart is fine, but it doesnt work at a specialized store.

It will be like Home Depot ! Where can you buy lumber anymore NO WHERE not unless you go to guys in orange. And all my local lumber yards went outtta buisness. Yet they were more friendly and the prices were not that bad in most cases

Boater's World has the best prices of all three, just go there and save.

As far as kids working, well none of them pay good. I was an assistant manager at one and a manager at another and it was hard keeping good/knowledgeable people. The managers don't even get paid that good, 29K and I brought in almost 3million in sales for that one store.

Im sure its better where the staff isnt seasonal.

Yeah, you are right, about the managers.

For Boater's World you make a base and 1/2%(.005) of sales.

At West it was a fixed rate but I am not sure if all stores/districts were liket that.
