Lake Powell is your best bet. I can make it to Powell in 3 hours and I live 240 miles west of Denver. You should be able to do it in 7 hours. The rewards of the lake are very much worth the drive though. My 02.

.........and the water level is down 20+ feet also. The beaches look good on TV though. I think most of the launch ramps end about 150' before you get to the water.

Looks like Powell is the place to go. Powell has allways been on my "to do" list, now I'll have an excuse to go!

Lake Powell is one of thoes must see lakes. It will be well worth your trip. Good luck with your job transfer.
