Hyperactive crashes
 

Just saw a clip from a race on Fox Sports, You Gotta See This. Bad crash. Hull comes apart.:eek:

It was just a quick clip that I caught part of while surfing. Fox Sports has a show called You Gotta See This. They usually replay it over the course of a week. The clip was a pretty bad crash in a race with what looks like a cat named Hyperactive.

I got that on video! They were going around a claimed 100 at the time.

It will take a bit as I must reinstall Adobe 6 Premier!

The story on it from what I heard they did some work on/in the front area of the boat T2x would know the details.

That's an old clip. I bet that is from like 93, 94 or 95. I think it was a 32 Skater with inboards.

It was a 32 Skater that they stretched to 35 to run in OPEN class. The added 3 feet to the back of the boat. The front of the boat came Apart VERY bad Tom Slamecka and Dave Cutter were hurt very bad in the accident. The race was in Marathon Florida, it was an OPT race.

Ive actually seen the video that was taken from the helicopter. It was pretty bad. Tom and Dave boat on Lake Hartwell. They are the guys that took me and MikeHTM for a 150mph ride is the 36 Skater TOMCAT.

If I remember correct that was an early carbon fiber boat. when they came under the bridge they caught a wake from a prior boat and just brushed the bridge. that caused fractures in the left front sponson. a couple of hits later it gave up and blew apart. I talked with Tom shortly after that and he said that he had crashed all sorts of things but nothing came close to hitting him as hard as that.

I have the hyperactive crash on VHS around here somewhere. Bobby Kaiser and a few other racers stopped and jumped into the water to pull them out. It blew the whole front of the boat completely apart.

Tom was ahead of us in that race in Marathon. The boat disintegrated just before the bridge, coming back in.

The local radio announcer reported that an unknown boat had hit the bridge. By coincidence, we had overheating problems and stopped at the same time. When we didn't come back around, our friends and families assumed that WE must have been the boat in the crash. Much stress, to say the least.
