I've been stood up probally a hundred times. Alot of performance buyers are wannabees. I know on this board there are many legit , honest - performance boaters but most of these potential buyers are in a " dream world" !!! BH

I took a $300 deposit on a $3500 motorcycle I am selling early last summer. The guy never returned for the money or the bike. Anyone want a nice bike for $3200 ?

Get a lawyer friend to draft you a sales contract, whether you are the buyer or seller. I have seen it all. Twice. The sellers messing up the deal. The buyers messing up the deal. All of that. But, what happens when you sell a guy a boat from out of state, you take him for a test ride, and he buys the boat. AS IS, NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED or IMPLIED. He gets the boat home. Uses the boat. You talk to him and he says everything is great. Done Deal, RIGHT? Then he calls you a week later and tells you something is broke and its YOUR/MY fault. The boat was a never titled hull. New never titled. Engines and drives had been used and told to the customer. WHAT DO YOU DO?

People have to know there limits when looking at a boat
I see lots of boats for sale here or on boat trader.
Question is can you afford it and are you comfortable
with spending/financing the amount required to purchase.

As with selling I see that the high dollar boats bring a lot of
dreamers out. I have not had a problem selling anything
but as I move up over the next few years ,Im sure I'll
have similar experiences.

I have bought and sold a few boats in my day and have experienced alot of B.S., but none of it is as bad as dealing with most brokers in my opinion. Especially today with the internet you can find just about any boat you want and all good boats sell themselves, without salesman B.S

For every Iron clad contract you give me ,,, I will give u Five Lawyers that can shred it to bits... and that just cost both sides a lot of cash for no gain....

However, their are a lot of tire kickers in this industry, and if one does not want to deal with shoppers and lookers then put your boat with a broker.

There aint no free ride!!!!
