Race fairing for a Formula 302 what do you guys think??
1 Attachment(s)
Chart and I are working on a Fairing for our Formula 302's and wanted some opinions on the design that we have come up with so far. What do you guys think about a Lexan wind deflector that we think will be required to cut down on the wind. There are more pictures in the Tech Q&A area so I am only going to include this one picture to save server space.
Thanks Jon |
Dude, I think you should just call Ghost Rider and have him cut up your water logged POS for scrap. LOL!!!
I like the look Jon. But we talked about this already!! :) |
I like it !!!

Yeah baby!!!
I like that! Good work! |
Word of caution. Make it strong. Mine seems to be a hand hold for stepping over to get on the front.
|
Ditto, I like it but you know people will use it to hold onto so make it stong and supported.

Looks sharp. Who's El Camino is that?

When we talked about what material to use we told the guy we wanted people to be able to jump on it and not have it break. So we are going to make it out of something strong for sure. We are also going to I think of making a gusset type of a deal to go up in the back side. This will add strength, hold speakers, and make it easier to keep clean.

Jon looks great. I considered doing the same thing to my 302. but I think you will miss the wind screen when the the weather gets crapy. If I change mine I think I will build a shorter version of the wind screen not unlike the design of your fairing as it does look cool. But that is for next year right getting the boat stripped and ready for the paint shop and building my own swim platform to replace the high maintenance teak one.
