89 oct on 500efi 2001 model, 178 hrs runs great.

SteveS 01-21-2003 06:09 AM

87-89 in my EFI, it does not like anything higher.

bajadude 01-21-2003 06:42 AM

89 in 1999 HP500s (150 hours), no problems.

audacity 01-21-2003 09:32 AM

the higher the octane #....the less btu it has....in short, run 87 in that engine....

racers...yeah we also pay near 4 bucks per gal to go slower!

jawbreakerkid 01-21-2003 10:54 AM

hey JJ, maybe that is why you are going 7mph slower!!! LOL! :D ;)

maybe its all the additional weight of the new paint :D :D :D what kind of rpms are you spinning if its the same and your using the same props maybe its your speedo, and if your using a gps now and werent then, then maybe you havent lost the 7 mph and in that case go back to your old speedo to find it. :D:D:D
it sounds as if you change quite a few things and its just a matter of dialing back. did you change props gears etc.?
