anyone here into Drag boats?
I was just wondering how many people here are into drag boats.
My grandfather used to build diamond drag boats (anyone familiar with them?...less than 100 made). I currently own a 1968 Howard flatbottom drag boat. mike |
I like to watch them run. I usually go down to Kentucky Lake (piscah bay) a couple times a year and watch them run down there.

My dad has an old 1979 Sanger Hydro. It was named Insanity and raced in the Midwest.:D

I had a very good friend who owned several different boats and was kind enough to let me drive them. Flat bottoms, Hydros, and Jets. The last was a Kurtis 500 hydro with a Arias blown gas motor called Full Force. It had a 2 speed linco that was air shifted. Not you usual lake boat!!! Went to High Point NC for 14 years in a row just to watch. From a racers stand point it was a pain in the butt..hurry up and wait. But what a weekend long party.
