I lost a motor (non P/S side) on 28 Daytona @ 90 and it was very easy to control. I was several miles from the trailer and 95 degrees out, so I let it slow down to 40 and ran it back to the dock on one. Ended up being a loose coil wire. Fixed before we got to the dock.

Wasn't there a race a few years ago where the leader blew a drive or motor on a twin and the team was putting a small prop on the good side as another boat took the lead, but the new leader ended up breaking too and the first boat was able to get on plane with a small single prop and win the race?

IF YOU HAVE A CAT,HOLD ON & GET READY FOR A VIOLANT
TURN ONE WAY OR YHE OTHER.
IF IT IS A V BOTTOM,YOU WILL FEEL A SLIGHT PULL,BUT IT
WILL BE CONTROLABLE.HOPE IT NEVER HAPPENS TO YOU
KNOW MATTER WHAT YOU ARE RIDING IN.

I came within about 3 feet of hitting the bridge and just kept the throttle down so I would not come of plane (I can still run over 50 on 1 with the other dragging) and started started mixing captains.. scarry as hell
Is there ever a time that that boat isnt aired to the moon?

I didnt blow up or break anything, but I thought that I did. about 5 years ago I was cruising about 50 in my 38 special. out of the blue the port motor over revved and the boat did a sharp turn to port. It had turned past 90 degrees before I could even reach the throttles. Got her stopped, lifted the drive expected something very bad, Found a big old board had hung up on the port drive. The sudden drag combined with zero thrust made it turn like it had a mind of its own. Could have been dangerous, but as usual I lucked out again.
