Towing in Freezing Climate
Pros?
Cons? Dangerous? for the boat not so worried about hte roads this weekend. Will the sub zero do anything to the Fiberglass? Components? Never taken the boat out in the low of temps. Lowest was 35 It is now 6 above :( |
I don't think it is going to hurt the boat but you better go easy on the truck and trailer till it all warms up ! I am doing service on a trailer now . The grease is like frozen tar and it;s been inside the shop all morning ! Your truck and trailer bearings will take several miles to warm up .Go very slow for a few miles before laying the hammer down !!:D Also your automatic trans will realy suffer till it warms up . MAybe take the truck up the road and back alone to warm the trans then hookup and go ! IF it's diesel , see my other post on trucks freezing . Get good fuel and conditioners . If it's gas put some dry gas in it . I had a couple gas engines freeze up too . Under load the fuel moves so fast through the lines it gets real cold ! Good luck ! JOE
