Not sure but Cadilac is building one with the northstar motor in it. Building it next to the Vette line in Bowling Green plant. Don't know when it will be released but have seen some spy pixs of it. They will have to up the HP on the vette cause the Northstar makes more power than the LS1. Also heard that they will have a special edition Z06 Dale Earnhart model in 04.

I don’t know anything about it that isn’t considered rumor at this point. Here is a list of what I can find. Some of it backs up what gmhdfan said about the Northstar engine.
2004 Chevrolet Corvette C6
- The C6 Corvette is still scheduled to arrive in 2004 (possibly available in winter 2003) and may sport a 6.0 liter 450hp V8. The 6L engine is rumored to have 2 cam shafts (one for incoming and outgoing air) and a output and cylinder deactivation system for improved fuel efficiency similar to that found in Mercedes-Benz V8s and V12s.
- The C6 design is being led by Tom Peters, the man responsible for Pontiac's controversial Aztek. We're told that Peters' team is looking at ways to downsize the current C5 Corvette, which they see as larger than ideal, but without sacrificing interior or trunk capacity. One competitor the team has benchmarked is Porsche's Boxster.
- Other possibilities for the C6 include a relocated transaxle (behind the rear axle) with sequential-shift manual/automatic and switching to a 4.0L Northstar DOHC V-8 (though the OHV LS1 is being breathed on to produce an honest 400 hp for 2003).
- The C6 Corvette could include a shift away from Sheet Molded Composite (SMC), or fiberglass for the body structure and be replaced by aluminum. However, there is also a possibility that the C6 will continue to be built on the C5 hydro formed structure due to its excellent construction and stiffness.
- GM may not replace the OHV engine with a DOHC type because of cost, packaging, previous investments into the LS1/LS6 design, and fuel economy. The last point would seem unlikely when you compare the fuel economy of the ZR-1's LT5 engine to that of the C4 generation's LT1 engine.
- 3rd or 4t generation Active Handling System.
- Larger brakes new wider wheels.
- Xenon headlamps.
- Electronic adjustable suspension.
- Voice activated navigation system and assistance from Cadillac On-Star.
- Analog gauges with a small digital display for other statistics.
