Default Vegas to Havasu

I'm going out to Vegas next week, and am wondering how long of a ride it is to Lake Havasu and what my best route would be.Is it worth checking out on a Monday or Tuesday?

Absolutely. Its about a 1 1/2 hour drive on 93/95 south. Head for Boulder City and take the Searchlight turnoff, then keep on going past the Laughlin turnoff. You'll hit the 40 at Needles, continue east to the Havasu/London Bridge turnoff. The weather there is fabulous, mid 80's this week...

Made the exact same trip this past fall while in town for the SEMA convention. Very easy drive, a lot closer than I thought (it still took almost two hours though).

Definitely worth checking out!

you can also go the way of Kingman, it adds about 30 miles to it, but alot faster trip because you do not have so many side streets and if I remmeber right alot more 4 lane road then through Searchlight.

Btw, watch for the red cheri pickers hiding on 95 they like to hide behind semis while traveling and then hitting hte radar on you

Yeh, I want to remember it was around two and a half hours and not that fun of a drive. Two lane road, lot of trucks to get around, not much to look at. Plus, 95 is the type of highway that cops like to hang out on. Never thought about the Kingman route, probably worth checking that out on the map.

Not to slow you down, but this time of the year your not going to see much. Head for the bridge, everything your going to want to see is walking distance from the bridge unless you are interested in one of the boat builders. There is a little vistor center in the village under the bridge that is pretty cool. Lots of pictures and info.

I made the drive once, we headed out of vegas like we were heading to Boulder dam then you take a right on this two lane long ass road that goes forever!!!! Pretty cool though you can see forever and it's as straight as can be. It's out in the desert and you see some old dried up lakes and stuff, then all of a sudden you go over this cow gate and the road goes to hell and your in california!! I remember the drive to be at least 2 1/2 hours but it's very well worth it!!

it was more like 2.5 hours doing 100mph in a rented suv. Did it last year, was a boring ride with nothing to see but dessert. But it WAS worth it
