what would you do ? i sold some used parts to a fellow O S O member. he paid me most of the money. but i am waiting on a few hundred dollars he has not paid. this O S O member has all the parts. and after several requests by me for payment. i have not gotten a check. WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?

I'd "out him" on the board so we can all shame him into submission.

If you haven't already done so, set up a Paypal account. Then send him an email with your requesting a payment to your Paypal within 24 hours. Notify him that if he has not complied you will let everyone you know not to do business with him. If that happens at least post it hear so your fellow OSOers don't get taken.

i don't want to piss the guy off. he may have just foggoten. but i would think after several calls. and the famous "the check is in the mail" that it looks like a song and dance.

If it's been more than a week, then the check is NOT in the mail.
1 phone call, cool!
2 phone calls, is one too many.
3 phone calls, you have a problem.

that is why no names are mentioned. i know people can be distracted with work and projects and things get forgotten . but the last call i made he said "do you think i am trying to stiff you ? " so lets give this a try.

If he clearly stated what you said above, I would not go and set a up a paypal account etc. My personal feeling is, after ample time and attempts to get paid have been exhausted, tell us who he is and what happened. I have done this as have others. This is one of the MANY hundreds of benefits of OSO. Not only may it benefit you, but it will put all of us on the aware.

I will give out a little bit more info. this fellow O S O member is re-rigging a bot and lives in the chicago-land area.

i will post a little more info each day till this "still un-named" O S O member steps up to the plate and takes care of his debt.

stay tuned for more on the " i want my money " saga.

If you need to mention who it is that is fine. You certainly deserve to get paid what was agreed. But to make hints or suggestions is harmfull to other OSO members. There are a lot of people on this board in the Chicago area and nobody really needs people guessing whether they are the one that has not paid you.

Only one problem with this statment in this post. This thread would not have been started because I would have paid for the parts when I got them.

I understand things happen, people forget, banks screw up, checks get lost in mail, but when some one says
"do you think i am trying to stiff you ? " or they tell me they are a christian, I know they are wanting to stiff me.

steve ; i did not want to implicate anyone but the non-payer. and i thought i would give him time to right his wrong. several phone calls have done nothing. sorry to imply that it was just anyone in the chicago area. should i narrow it down to an area code. ( 773 ) or zip code 60035 would that help ease your mind ?

My neighbor got a boat from a "Christian" who was against alcohol and couldnt tolerate the sight of it. He gets it to his house, we pull up the snap in carpeting and whats there.... a few bottle caps from some Mikes Hard Lemonade!!!
