Biggest bang for the buck

What boat with what power is the biggest bang for the money,V bottom or Cat,inboard or outboard, some rough water use & some calm water use.

I've got a 16' padvee closed bow runabout with a heavily worked 2.4 Merc. If the needle bearings in the rods haven't pitted from rust, and you can get the carbs boiled out clean enough, it still oughta run in the mid 90's (after you've got enough seat time in it to drive it, that is).

I'll sell it like it sits for $5,000 including the trailer.

That's GOTTA be the best bang for the buck on the board...

Lets try and keep the price below 100.000 grand with speeds capable of 80 MPH and above.

For personal use? Might be a one-time adventure, but....
An old sailboat with a couple of JATO rockets attached (cheap military surplus).
Set a world speed record with your hair on fire!

Just knock a hole in it when you're done so you don't get ridiculed......cheap fun though, and even faster than Jon's Hydrostream!
:D :p
