OMG...... and it had a Israeli astronaut on board.... Just what the US needs....

How sad...my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the crew.

Brings back vivid memories of Challenger in the 80's.

Default A very sad day for the world.

That's the end of the Space Shuttle program for the next 2-3 years.

I think this might be a worse tragedy than the comming Irak war.

Default It broke down traveling 12.500mph. 12.500mph!

According to Nasa, the shuttle was about 200,000 feet up and travelling at 12,500 (20,000 kph) mph when contact was lost at about 0800 local.

Challenger exploded in 1986.
