Triple axle trailers on smaller boats

Why do some manufacturers put smaller boats ( 25 ft. - 29 ft.) on triple axle trailers? I see this a lot with the West Coast builders. It seems like overkill and just adds to the maintainence bill.

maybe the looks of the trailer, eye apeal is important to some, my 29 outlaw is on a triple axle trailer, but anything smaller than 27 ft is really overkill

I think the triples look good, sort of a fashion statment, but ya under 26/27 it will probley look like a michigan train

Triples look good but are a pain in the ass to manuever, twin axles are nicer to use.

My 28' Nordic came with a trip, it might be overkill, but it sure tracks nice on the highway. On the down side, they get a little grumpy when making those tight turns during launching and retrieval.
