7.4 efi or mpi
What is the differnece between efi or mpi?
I'm looking at a pair of Volvo 7.4's which are 385HP EFI. The intake system looks like the Merc 500EFI. But Mercs 7.4 385HP engine is listed as MPI and looks much different. Both systems use the GM MEFI-3 ECU.
I'm assuming the 500EFI style is better, otherwise it would not be on that engine and it also looks like the same basic intake that AZ Speed and Marine sell. Does the EFI style intake flow or perform better?
