Key Largo Hotel
Looking for a connection or a good hotel to stay at on 2/15 - 2/17 in Key Largo area. We are staying in Lauderdale earlier on, but thought it would be nice to check out the Keys with our daughters (15 & 10) after the boat show. Preferably ocean front and less than $300 per night. We qualify for government rate if available. Any ideas?

At the first Thunder run we stayed at the Westin in Key largo and had a great time. Do not know if you have a boat, but there dockage is close to the rooms and they took great care of us. The resteraunts were also pretty good. Give it a try, 800-728-2738

Thanks Dan but Westin Marriott completely booked - it was our first choicee with the kids.
Partyhawk - Key West sounds fine for Mom and Dad, but what about the kids? Anything for them to do?

where to stay
Donzi,
Rice Hauler here. Just came from a weekend at Hawk's Cay Resort on Duck key. This resort is a mere 5 miles north of Marathon on US 1 and is a truly a family resort.
If you go by boat it is approx 90nm south of Miami and by car about 100 or so. Spa, Restaurants, Swimming, Fishing, Dolphins, way to many other things to list. check out the website www.hawkscay.com the place is the total coolest i've boated to yet. If your doing the family thing check out the villas the hotel is great but the villas totally rock especially if you bring the boat.
This was our second visit this season and ti just keep getting better and better. Of I can be of any help feel free to pm me.
Best,
Robert Shin

First choice would be the Marriott, then the Westin. Also try Holiday Inn, I think there is a Best Western there also. Make sure you stop for lunch at Alabama Jacks on Card Sound road (Card Sound road goes to north Key Largo, it splits off from US1 in Homestead). Fun place! Even if you don't stop this is a better way to go than US1 - just check your map.
