I just went back and re-read that page on Dolphinite's site, along with everything else on there. I'm glad I use Interlux products after reading it.
Sure, it seems that the people who actually made the "Go-Fast" paint screwed them. That said, they have not stopped selling the stuff - I tried to order it right off the site, and got all the way to checkout, no warnings about the stuff at all.

Not too many times will I take the time to slam a product or company on OSO....but DOLPHINITE SUCKS!

Does not stay on no matter how you apply it or prep the boat. We used it on 2 boats - NEVER AGAIN!

Drumpoint Marina also has experience with the product and says the same thing.

I originated this thread and was planning a user response.
The product is a disappontment. The coating gets the same tea stain as the gel would get if left untreated. Growth still adheres but to a lesser extent. The coating has adhesion issues which they imply they are dealing with the supplier to correct. A series of batches were identified by lot number. Mine was not in those lots but still peeled/bubbled.
They never replied to three e-mails I sent regarding the product. I would not recommend this produc to anyone and hope my starting the thread didn't lead to anyone buying the coating.

The only good thing is it is not that difficult to remove.

Doing a search on the 'net, I found a new polymer called "Marine Skin"...

The manufacturer claims it inhibits barnacle growth and algae slides off during operation. They also claim this product has hydrophilic properties, which increases speed. I understand it is applied like a wax, not paint.

Anybody familiar with this?

One of our members tried the Dolphinite product this year. To say "he is not happy with the product" would be an understatement.

time for teflon coated boats bottoms :D
