Fun day at the boat yard

Unloading a new Inboard skiboat this morning, something went crazy wrong with the hoist, boat and trailer flipped upside down, crashed into boat under it,upright pole on flatbed went thru sundeck, boat and trailer hanging upside down on top of bottom boat that was for another dealer.Should have stayed home today. Wrecker guy said he had never seen such a mess, finally got everything down and rightside up. Now the rebuilding of a brand new boat begins.Should have gone to Miami.:(

Robert, handle enough boats, and something's bound to happen occasionally. It's really pretty dangerous work most of the time. Thankfully no one was hurt... :) Randy

That sucks man. Be glad that no one was hurt. The other day I was leaving one customers house to go to the shop for a delivery. I was running late and driving to fast in the snow traveling down a narrow road. I got to a blind corner and there was a snow plow coming the other way. I put my truck in the woods and still got hit by the guy. I guess I was lucky that it only clipped my fender flair but still :(:( Turns out it was a fiend of mines truck so I told him not to worry about it I will take care of the repair, so now it is going to cost me money. I was all bummed out at first but then later in the day the phone rings and a new customer is on the other end of the line and offers me a HUGE job :D :D So hopefully your good will come with the bad also.

Dude, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, like was said earlier, sooner or later whenyou handle that many boats the odds turn against you. I hope all goes well with the repair.

Magicfloat 02-14-2003 09:40 AM

Yeah,37 years of unloading and this is only the 2nd boat, first one was about 20 years ago,so I guess I shouldn't complain. No one was hurt and the damage seems to be cosmetic and upholstery issues. We'll repair it ,disclose what happened to potential buyers, and sell it cheap.
