Damaged 382 Fastec on Ebay

I saw this on usauctions.com about a week before auction started. Areal project, I was interested until they updated the information with an EIGHT INCH crack in the keel near the transom.

This boat really needs some work, but someone good with glass could have some fun.

I can't believe the bid is at $40k, it sounds like a lot of work and even if you do it yourself it's going to cost quite a bit.

Isn't that the boat that was in rack storage, when the rack collapsed?

MnHowardCat 02-14-2003 10:13 AM

Thats still a lot of boat for that price and a good winter projected jest my .02

There's one on Boat Trader Online. Same year, same everything for $126K. You could probably get this one for $50K, throw another $40K - $50k at it and really have a nice piece...at a savings. :D

Looks like the only thing that is not damaged is the toilet.:D

ARE THEY NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My boat needs less work to make it into a 383 Fast Tech!!!!!!!!

Magicfloat 02-15-2003 06:31 PM

It went for 75100. Dont relly know much about ebay. The guy who bid 75100 has to come up with money or what? If he doesn't does somebody come and break his legs?If he doesn't pay what recourse does the seller have or does the auction start over? Whoever bid that much should have called me about a new 382.

wwwTOPDJcom 02-15-2003 11:10 PM

should have went for more like 30-35k

It sold for WAY too much! That's at least 30k worth of work and the real damage cannot be seen. AND it's only got 502's....

obnoxus 02-17-2003 08:35 AM

As long as its not just cosmeticaly bandaged up and sold to some unsuspecting person,,,god bless ,,,,,,,,,,, It was his call to drop that much on it.

Boththe bidder and the auctioner can drop out of the auction at any time. Ebay will do NOTHING if the bidder decides to say forget about it. The worst that will happen to a bidder that does not buy is that they will get their ebay history dinged.

Wow

I agree 75k is way too much.

With a crack in the hull near the transom, that's where the most load on the hull is when getting some air and landing.

Sheesh, there are better deals out there then this.!

ebay is a legal binding contract with the seller if you bid you are a owner don't think you can just back out we make a living on ebay ! dead beats bidders are responsible for fees and damage to the sale sometimes as much as the sale of the item
