Default Skater heading North bound on the turnpike twin O/B

So yesterday we decide to take a car ride to Orlando from Palm beach and On my way north cruising @ 80 mph on the pike , Here come's a truck pulling a Outboard skater passing me like I was sitting still easy 100 + mph .

Now 100 mph on the water is nice but behind on a trailer

I have been towing boats and trailers for close to 30 years and max speed towing was around 70 mph for safety reason " max tire speed " . "Sorry for venting " I just thought it was crazy

MIke

Probably a Canadian driving a US spec truck and mistakenly he thought the MPH were KPH!

I towed to LOTO and back then the keys, set the cruise on 80 as otherwise I would have been holding up traffic. Nothing worse than someone pulling a big boat like a 17' bay liner, with a Yamahaha,, 45 in the fast lane.

And we never use trailer tires.

Maybe it was cheaper way to experience the benefits of a wind tunnel.

I suspect he was outrunning a cruiser wake, all while trying to pack air to save fuel.

I have run at 80 mph with 36 Skater 10.6 ' wide in tow up and down 95 without any issues as long as ball joints on truck are good and load is balanced. The Duramax got 4mpg reguardless of speed.

Wasn't my Skater or Duramax. It had an Edge tuner in it stating 4 mpg while underway. What kind of mileage should it have been getting or have others got towing a 36' cat full of fuel? Inquiring minds want to know?
