What boat stole the show?

For those of you that were fortunate enough to go to Miami, which boat stole the show in your mind and why?

388Hustler 02-19-2003 02:23 PM

I would probably say the Nor-Tech cat Xtreme Xhibit. It had 4 engines (I don't recall the HP but they were massive) and the guy said they had to 180mph and it still had more... I think he told me they only wanted 1.3 million for it...

Pete B 02-19-2003 02:40 PM

yes the nortech, 1100 hp motors,

salesmanship 02-19-2003 03:50 PM

Thanks for the kudos. True they are 1350's detuned to 1150 for now. Have not opened it up but it ran 163 GPS at 5000 rpm. They'll turn 7000 so we truly believe that 200 is within reach.
Thanks to all attendees for a truly great show. We'll keep ya posted.

I agree the 50' NOR-TECH stole the show. If we can put a deal together I think the 36 Supercat will be my next boat!!!

AZDominator 02-19-2003 06:15 PM

I'm with Too Old, the MTI Pleasure Cat was AWESOME! (It would of been better shown with a couple of 1300 Sterlings as opposed to no power at all)

Did you all see this thread?

I agree that Sunsation seems to have the most creative use of space and gadgets. I would love to see the back hatch in action as well :D:D

nor tech

that nor tech was a bad boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cuda 02-19-2003 06:58 PM

The new Sunsation was the hot topic, I'm bitter that I never could see it. I heard the boat magazines were all over it all weekend.

RumRunner 02-19-2003 07:03 PM

The low deck 39' MTI was Bad A$$

cowisl 02-19-2003 07:42 PM

what about the outerlimits 37 gtx?

kitten 02-19-2003 08:06 PM

Pantera Survivor 36' hands down!! .....and I got a ride! NEXT: MTI Cat, Nnnnnice :chick:

Reckless32 02-19-2003 09:13 PM

I didn't go, :( but referring to the "within reach boats".... I spoke with my dealer today and they said HotBoat & F&PB mag are definitely lining up a profile for the Innovator soon. I'm sure powerboat mag won't be far behind on this "out of the box" design. I did also hear about the awesome Nor-Tech Cat on the dreamer's scale...:D

Gary864 02-20-2003 08:08 AM

The Sunsation Innovator ran some good numbers at Lake X, Wayne (President of Sunsation) is still working to get the final numbers/ Dialed in (tweeked). If Dave from Sunsation would like to reveal those numbers I will leave it up to the Sunsation gang. But I will say it is impressive and a full pleasure layout to boot. This boat is going to be worth the wait. It is going to be a leader in speed and Handling.

Reckless32 02-20-2003 10:11 AM

Rumor has it that during one of the rides down there it (Innovator) shot up quick to 81 in the time it takes to draw a breath and that was in not so good waters. Also, another rumor has it doing low 90's with the HP500's and mid 80's with 496HO's...As with all new designs, it'll take some time to get used to, but I see others coming up with out of the box setups to attract new attention and customers as a result of this one not to mention the new hull performance aspects with the notches up front to improve turns...

MTI cats

Beyond the obvious in all of these boats - you need to go into the cabins of the MTI, and even MORE importantly - LOOK AT THE RIGGING/WIRING. Randy Scism's boats are built to standards higher than most can even imagine. I haven't seen raceboat or even aircraft workmanship like that. (Should have gotten pictures...) Randy's a cool, friendly, likeable guy, too.....

The Formula 400SS was beyond awesome in it's own right. I took a ride on one on Monday, and while it may not be "fast" it is an incredible combination of luxury and performance at a reasonble $$$. (The Porters are cool, too.)

But: Even more impressive was the blond swimsuit model at the FPB party. (See PhantomChaos' "Detox" post for that one - the picture does NOT do her justice.....) :D

Gary864 02-20-2003 10:47 AM

Rumor seem to be accurate

Reckless288 It appears that your info on the innovarot is correct. That is what I heard also. I do know that Wayne is in FLA seeing what will work the best. The props on the boat we hitting the Rev Limters and still had more in the boat. Again I would refer everyone to the Guys at Sunsation for the exact numbers. I may not own a Sunsation currenty but have had 3 in the past. I am waiting on the 396 which should have a simular bottom as the Innovator.:eureka:

Were there any skaters there?
