Default Cover pole support

I am making a new cover and was thinking of using crossing suppot poles
Like the kind used on backpacking tents instead of a center pole
Has any one tried this?
Or any other Ideas

If you tow your boat or for ventilation..... I had a hole cut out of the cover just above each bolster seat. About 4-5" hole. The hole is then given a sewed in cloth screen. On the top of the screen holes is placed a square patch sewn only on 3 sides. The side to the aft is not sewn and given a little extra pleated material to allow air flow out when towing. This also allows some air into the cockpit if just used when the boat is at dock.. I had someone do this for me. I also had them put another layer of material around the top of the windshield area where is seemed like it would be a wear point.
The cross supports you speak of sound like a great idea.... let us know how it turns out.... would like to see pics....
