24 Formula, what's it worth?

A buddy of mine has a 87 24 Formula. Motor froze 5 years ago. Bought a Jasper crate motor but never installed it. What do you think it's worth "as is". Boat is fairly clean on an eagle trailer. has a 330 with an Alpha.

:eureka: Check out nadaguides.com it should give you a rough idea.

13 to 18K depending on condition of gelcote and vinyl. Alpha drive is not going to help the value, kinda whimpy for that big block. They stopped using Alpha drives in back of fat-blocks after 1987.

How's the boat look? Is it cherry or just so-so. Trailer rusty? Got pictures?

Just as a reference point, I payed $8500 last year for this 85 242LS with twin fwc 350's with 34 hours on the engine. Dropped it in the water and ran it the first day. Love this boat!

As is Im thinking $12-13 k at most

It is a solid boat and could be an excellent project if bought for the right price

I think Cuda is right on. The single BBC helps but the alpha hurts. Plus it's a project. I would say if he wants to sell it he should expect around $8K.
