Hey folks .... 2 things ....

1. Are there any good snowmobile sites like OSO to check out ?!

2. What effect/ difference is there going from a 121" track to a 136" track ?????

BTW .... Anybody going to be up in the NorthBay Ontario area this weekend ???? we've got 6- 8 guys heading up Thurs.

Leopajm,

Try www.Trailconditions.com It is ok for trailconditions and some general info. There are lots of Magazine Websites for more info. Do a search for "snowmobiles" and all kinds of sites will come up for you.

The 136" will be nice over stutter bumps because it will straddle the bumps rather than fall in between them. It will be better in deep snow (snowshoe affect). It will be a little tougher in tighter trails. It will push through the turns and the turning radius will not be as good. The 136" will also be a little slower across the lake (top end) due to the track weight. There are pluses and minuses to both. It depends on what kind of riding you will primarily be doing. Hope this helps.

North Bay is about 150 miles north of where I ride. 121 track is all you need, the trails are smooth and fast.

BRING A LOT OF WARM CLOTHING........it is freaking cold.

Try www.snowmobileworld.com

Good forums section there.Trail reports etc.

As for a 136 vs a 121,136 is great for offtrail riding. North bay offers lots of groomed trails so a 121 will be fine. As Fwalker said, dress warm, its friggin cold here and even colder there. I was up that way 2 weeks ago and the snow conditions were great. If you are touring, ride the a trail nortth to latchford. It was awsome.. Next winter, look into going further north if trails are what you like. From North bay its a 2 day (long day) ride to Cochrane Ontario. Incredible big flat fast trails without much hassle as the cops are few and far between.

If any of the sleds coming with you have aftermarket pipes, loose em befor the border as I have heard several people being refused entry due to that. They are now illegal here.

dlbCHECKMATE,Yes they are if they increase sound levels. Some areas are enforcing it while others are not. Have heard of several sledders who got 205 dollar tickets for "modified" exhaust.

Went last weekend to lake Speculator in the Catskills NY. One of the guys we were with hit another sled at 80 MPH on the lake at nite. Totaled 2 sleds but no one was seriously hurt. If you saw the sled you would have said there was no way these guys lived.
