Now that's an oxymoron. There are no cheap health ins. I just went thru this jan 1 changed from employee to 1099 status with no benifits. The only good thing is for 2003 the ins. premiums are 100% deductable.

Do you currently have health ins? keep it active until you get a new policy or any pre-existing illnesses and not covered for 1 year. I looked into many plans and settled for personal choice and a mere $923/mo for family, but it covers everything.

What are your needs? yourself, kids? Do you have any illnesses? Do you take meds every day?

You can buy some which only covers hospitalization and not out- patient and it is reasonably priced. It is just like your car ins. in that you pay for the daily little things and the ins pays for the catastrouphic illness requiring hospitalization.

I found family plans from $425 to $1100/mo. Eahh a little different in their deductable and coverage. If you belong to Sams Club- they have a 800 number for health ins and were reasonable.

If your poor you get coverage and if over 65 get medicare. For those of us in the middle we're screwed. Good luck.

I have Aetna/US Healthcare @ $685. per month for family of 3. Got it through McPherson Insurance in flemington. It's a group policy, small business. Give them a call.

If you are under 40, nonsmoker, in good health, you should be able to find individual or family coverage at reasonable rates.

Ask local businessowner friends which health insurance broker they use. The brokers will usually do you a better job of finding the right policy and have no reason to steer you wrong since they make their commission regardless of which brand they sell you.

The following are our premiums we pay for health insurance for our employees. The policy is Blue Cross Blue Shield including prescriptions and dental. 100% covered in network with general office visits costing $30 co-pay. Out of network is covered at 80% after deductable ($250 per member/$500 per family)

Single employee = $365.53/mo
Family = $859.00/mo

If you want any particulars on the policy send me a PM and I'll give you some details. Good luck in your search.
