Poker Run's
There are so many Poker Runs(across the US and I was wondering which ones(maybe top 6) you feel are the best attended and the most fun. I have only attended a few last year and I am looking to hit a few more this year.

Scope Poker Run in Long Beach

For an inexpensive Fun Run on the Niagara River & Lake Erie, try theWestern NY Toys For Tots Run
Dan: Good topic.
DaveP and the gang at NJPPC do the best job with anything's that's available in the NJ area - I'll do one of their runs in a heartbeat. Outside of that, I would agree that 1000 Islands is a "must do" just for the scenery, but Poker Runs America also does a great job with the event itself. I hope to do some events with the Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association this year. I've met some of the members, and they appear to be a great group. Hampton Roads is a great area too, and BillR and the HRPA are a great, friendly group. My biggest concern is that the event be ORGANIZED. I've been to a few that made me uncomfortable (booze, racing, poor communications, etc.), and I won't be back to those. I go to have a good time, not worry all day. |
The Emerald Coast Poker Run in August in Destin/Ft.Walton.....
...great people, beautiful water and the money goes to a good charity and the prizes are high dollar or can be auction for high dollars. Tickfaw 200 oin La.....Crazy Charlie and those guys always know how to have a good time!! Lake Travis Powerboat Association on Lake Travis, Tx.....nice pots and there is poker run once a month for the summer season May-Sept. |
I have been to the lake cumberland for the last 4 years great event. For the last two years they have had close to two hundered boats.
Thanks for the ideas. They all sound so good. Now decesions as to which ones to attend.
Chuck, i love Dave's and the NJPPC runs. I did the Phila and AC runs last year and they were very well organized and fun. I agree the safety of these is very important, and the NJPPC seems to do a great job. I am going to try and do a few outside of my area this year, so keep the suggestions coming. :D |
Originally posted by Shane THOUSAND ISLANDS!!!!! NUMBER ONE! The Gananoque (sp?) "Thousand Islands" poker run is the SH*T!! Poker Runs America - Three different classes/groups of boats. People come from across the nation to attend. If you live in NJ, this is the must attend poker run you wanted to know about. |
scope. it doesnt get any better. i have been to over 40 poker runs
Dan, last year we did the Thunder on the Bay run from Red Eye's dock Bar. Awesome run Very well organized great food and drink. Not far from you're stompin' grounds. Hell you were at the Chesapeake Inn last year! Can't wait for this one. Blows NYC run away. :p
Chuck, You should do this one too!!! You on the Batboat, And Diane and all the women on the Formula!!!! I'll go on the Formula just to make sure things don't get out of hand!!!!:p
For technical assistance of course!!!!;)
i think the bahamas would be at the top of my list as well.
As I posted in Powerboat magazine last month, Dollar for Dollar NJPPC Atlantic city poker run is the best value for the money and a great time for anyone that attends. Then I would say 1000 Islands for the view and NY for the thrill.

Well since All Pro Marine just picked up AT the run's on the Chesapeake would be a good way to spread the word about AT. Along with the Potomac we are going to have two this year I hear. A lot of the people on the Potomac are looking for boats in the size and price range that AT has. Plus the party's and chick's are pretty cool, and there is less than 1 mile of no wake in the whole run.
Is All Pro going to do any warranty work for AT? Are they going to have production parts, Interior lights etc.?
I don't know but if they are selling it new I would think they have to do warranty work.
I'll have to look them up!;)
