HYPER BAJA I got tired of cd's skiping and carrying a couple hundred cd's around with me. I bought kenwoods music keg (mp3 player) 10 gig hooked right up with the indash. I now have 1900 songs at my finger tip that wont skip. If everything works out Iam going to up grade my cartridge to a 40 gig.
Iam still looking at buying either the 8inc bazooks or 10 inc woofers mtx or keenwood. Dont know which one would sound better

In my Formula I put 2 Pyle 8" parabolic woofers in the sides of my rear seat enclosure. The magnets stick to the outside of the compartment so it doesn't really use any space inside the compartment that I usually store stuff in. The space outside the compartment is also storage (side lockers accessible thru sliding doors) but I put a stiff plastic pasta strainer basket over each outside to keep lines and stuff from catching on the magnets (you gotta stick your head in the side compartment to see the baskets). It works fairly well. It's got an Fields and Smith 140 watt/channel amp driving them with the hi pass filter on and a +3 boost at 40Hz. I tried both ways, and it sounds and feels better "out of phase" (+ and - reversed to the speakers).

It's not intended to be a competition grade system, and isn't, but the bottom end is Impressive and I've got the other speakers freed up to not try anything under 125Hz. Sounds much better.

I was thinking of doing a tape deck and car kit with my 6 gig mp3 player to it...but it sounds bad that way... Whats a place that sells that music keg? what is the price? I like MTX...

If you like tubes I have Bazooka and better. Rockford Fosgate makes an oval tube that outperforms Bazooka available in 8 and 10 inch and with or without internal amplifier. I also have Omega tubes that are made by the same factoiy as JBL's tube. The amplified 8 inch is $100 and the 10 inch with amp is $115.00. This is an OSO deal so when you call please mention OSO and ask for me or just email to [email protected].

For a more custom approach, I offer white gelcoated fiberglass boxes that come in three sizes to fit 8, 10 or 12 inch subs. They are vacuum bagged for strength and lightweight and look awesome. The 8 box is $140, 10 is $178, 12 is $191.

Need an amp? I am overstocked to the gills on the best brands. Give me a call at (813)882-8477. Monday thru Sat 9 to 6 EST.

Why bother with the full music keg harddrive setup? A single cd player with mp3 capability will play 10 hours from one cd of mp3's.

HYPER BAJA I bought my kenwood music keg out of cruthfield. They have a web sit to cruthfield.com or check out phatnoise.com

GO4BROKE the main reason i like the music keg is i have over 100 hours of music skip free. and I can upgrad to have 4 times more music with the new cartridge.

I hadn't thought about the skipping aspect. The keg doesn't skip at all?? What if I launch off a 6 footer at 70mph? Its been known to happen!:D Can the keg be moved between vehicles or is it a permanent install?
