Default 302 Overheating!!! HELP!!!

Parents 1993 Thunderbird 5.0 (with 155k) is overheating... It is the same motor in the old 5.0 mustangs with an intake manifold 3mm shorter for hood clearance. Not driven hard and the temp outside is 25 degrees. The radiator fluid was bubbling. What do you think is the problem and how can we check?

Please Help,
Tommy

Water pump, or thermostat stuck closed. Or even frozen coolant if its a weak mix. Is anything blocking the airflow to the radiator? Its a Ford that has lived 105,000 miles more than it should have, tell it its a good car and shoot it to put it out of its misery!
I just noticed you said the coolant was bubbling...does it look like theres a scuba diver in it? (air bubbles coming out) You probably have a blown head gasket.

Was the bubbling at normal temperature OR while it was HOT? You need to determine if it is bubbling at normal (whatever temp the thermostat is) temp.

Head gasket leaking or cracked cylinder liner (the bubbling is the key - you are getting combustion pressure into the cooling system).

Look into the radiator with the engine fully up to temperature (be careful opening it under pressure). Blip the throttle. If big bubbles come gurgling up, it's one of the above-mentioned maladies. Both of them will cause overheating. Hopefully it is neither, but if it's bubbling at 190 degrees, it is a bad sign.

Be EXTREMELY careful opening it under pressure. I got the hell burned out of me and a free ambulance ride when I was 15 trying to release the pressure on a radiator. 2nd degree burns all over my torso, arm and face. Not fun. Not recomended. You couldn't pay me enough to open any radiator with any temp.
