Question RIDE---Hull Design---Deep-V vs Stepped

I know that everyone has their own personal preference when it comes to a boat's hull design, but I have heard it said that some people actually prefer buying an older design conventional DEEP-V hull over the stepped hull versions because of how the boat rides in the rough and I suppose safety issues are another factor. I know the Stepped hulls are faster and speed is nice, but how is the ride compared to a Deep-V?

Anyone out there ever own the same manufactured hull length in both hull designs?

I'm probably going to open up a can of worms on this one.
