1986 Pantera 24 question

Now that I missed out on the Donzi 16, I am looking into this Pantera 24.
I am aware of the high quality workmanship and structural integrity of the boats that the Nunez family is known for. I just want to make sure this one is not a copy and is worth the asking price.
454 LS6 425 hp, Weiand blower, TRS drive, external steering, K planes.
The red gelcoat is faded, other wise boat looks ok (from the photos). Also comes with a 2 axle race boat trailer with aluminium wheels.
Owner is asking $15,500
This boat is located in Erie, Pa.
Does anyone know this boat? (I can e-mail pictures)
Thanks for your help.

I would post this on the Pantera Forum, Joe usually checks it daily.
Or I would give the factory in Miami a call and talkto Joey or Pepe'
They are usually very helpful with this type of info.
The phone # is on the websitee

georges I also looked at pantera 24s. The price is high for that boat. Look at the Nada on that price. I came close at buying a 1992 Pantera 24 with a 454 bravo drive and nice interior for $17,000, I should have bought it. I looking for a skater 24 . The boat your looking at should sell for about $9,800.

I came across this last week, haven't called on it but it sounds interesting. Don't have anywhere to put another toy right now. Hope it helps

DID YOU MAKE A DEAL ON THE BOAT YET?

georges 03-12-2003 07:27 PM

No, not yet. I am still debating whether it is wise to buy it sight unseen.

OPA 03-12-2003 07:35 PM

HOW MUCH IS HE WILLING TO LET IT GO FOR?

georges 03-12-2003 07:40 PM

He offered 14.5K, but I think 14K would do it.

RLW 03-12-2003 08:22 PM

Georges,
I think it's to much money. The gel, being faded, is the most expensive part of the boat to bring back. Buffing won't do it.
The TRS is old tech and parts are becoming more scarce. Was the blower motor done to blower specs?
I compare this boat to what I sold less than two years ago.
1990 Challenger Aerotech Super V-24. Like new gelcoat, 100 hours on new GenV 7.4 replacement motor (not rebuilt), Bravo outdrive totally gone through, etc, etc. Boat showed like low hours boat that was garaged and taken care of. Not to mention Vinylester layup.
Now, I realize, this is not a Pantera, but a well built sport boat, that earned Hot Boats, 1989 Sport Boat Of The Year.
This boat sold for $15500 on a mint bunk trailer.
It is a buyers market. Take your time.

Pantera24 03-12-2003 08:35 PM

Hey Georges,

As far as being "overpriced" well that's all relative to the condition and rigging..etc.
As far as I'm concerned... NADA is about as useful as tits on a bull when it comes to "High Performance" Boats. Not very accurate..
I just sold my 24 (1985) minus drive and engine for a fair price.
I would make an offer in the 12k range.
It is a buyers market and that boat has been for sale for little while.

P.S. Ask if they might consider selling w/o power and do it to your liking. Good Luck and call me if you have any questions.

email me some pics if you can.

Angel

RLW: Thanks for the input, I am concerned about the TRS drives.
Angel: I lost your e-mail adress, give it to me, I have several pictures of this boat.
