Went thru same thing last summer with my wife (son is now 3 months old). According to our Doc, issue is hard impact...we boat mostly on inland lakes & sometimes St. Lawrence Seaway these days, so no real issue. Doc's get concerned about the increased probability of a fall (rogue waves, getting in & out of boat, slamming into the back of a seat unexpectedly). Regardless, if you and your other half are reasonable people and understand what to watch out for, odds are you'll do fine.

We are already planning to be back out this year with our son...Can't wait for the ice to melt!

P.S. Good luck, and make sure you finish all the big boat projects before the baby comes along, as life will stop for both of you for several months after he comes along.
