Yet ANOTHER kidney stone!! AAAGGHHH!!!

Just had one a month ago. This one however is kicking my ass!! x-ray says it's 7mm x 5mm. Can you say watermellon thru a straw?? So I get to sit home all day, stoned!!! Good drugs.....but it's making it hard to type. I finally get a chance to catch up with Audioho and I can't type fast enough to do it! Damn.

hp500efi 03-18-2003 07:42 AM

Geez Mike not good news....never had one, hope I never get one :)..Good luck.

Waterfoul 03-18-2003 07:45 AM

It's been likened to giving birth.

Dude, I am sooooo stoned. It's taking every ounce of concentration I have to NOT type like puder!!

Pure Energy 03-18-2003 08:00 AM

My friend just passed one yesterday. We just started a 2.5 hr. drive and he was complaining that he must have pulled a muscle. After 10 min. the pain was bad. I had one before and had an idea that he had a stone. We turned around to go to the hospital. 2 blocks away he says, I feel fine. I then take him home. He pees into a strainer and the stone came out!!! Lucky bastard!!!

By some miracle of God I hope it breaks and psses smoothly. Good luck

Cord 03-18-2003 08:08 AM

Arn't they able to break those up with ultrasounds? Maybe some preventative maintenance is due here. Well anyways, good luck!

And don't you think that this cherade is going to get you any more cookies!

ChrisK 03-18-2003 09:23 AM

I feel for you. I've had kidney problems since 87. Back in 97 I had a marble size cluster removed by surgery. Hopeyou "come out" better. Best wishes.

PhantomChaos 03-18-2003 09:40 AM

The experts say there are 5 things that help you to reduce having them again, and four of them are drink LOTS of water everyday. Sorry to hear that Mike. I've had it twice, but now I drink a lot of water all the time.

GLH 03-18-2003 09:49 AM

Water is the key as PC said. Brother and sister had them, they started drinking water after that no probs since.

bajabob38 03-18-2003 12:25 PM

Been a ND fan my whole life never had one .What's that tell you.

fred 03-18-2003 12:41 PM

Mike,...if you keep having those your going to make enough gravel to do a driveway!! LOL ...anyway I hope you get that taken care of soon, they don't sound like fun at all, good luck, Fred

dyno 03-18-2003 12:43 PM

Well, since a lot of people tell me that beer can cause them, I guess it tells me you ND fans don't know how to drink!!!

Audiofn 03-18-2003 02:41 PM

You need to drink enough water to be pissing every 1 hour and take enough pain meds to stop the pain and spasm- at least 2 percocets every 4hours and if that doesn't hold try a shot or two of hard stuff. Of course no driving or operatiog heavy machinery, but then again all you should be able to do is walk to the toilet and back to bed. 95% pass with this. Good luck.

Hustler 26 03-18-2003 08:22 PM

Waterfoul, I've been there. My heart goes out to you. What ever you do ,don't let them go up your "you know what " with the little grabber thing. Mention the Ultra Sounding to them. ( not sure of the name of the procedure) This is were they put you in a tub of water and direct sound waves at the stone. It breaks it into smaller pieces so that you can pass it easier. Good Luck.:(

cuda 03-18-2003 08:37 PM

The sound wave procedure is called lithotripsy. I've had it twice. Doc said for me to quit drinking soda, and start drinking water. I'm still drinking soda, water is for fish to screw in. He said the south is known as the "stone belt" from being hot people get dehydrated causing the stones. If a person's urine is darker than clearer, you need more water.

Quiet Storm 03-18-2003 09:58 PM

Good luck Mike. I hope everything comes out all right:eek: Well, you know what I mean.

tanned fat looks better 03-19-2003 05:53 AM

Foul, you are confused. You need to drink more beer!!

Red Stripe 03-19-2003 08:08 PM

Ouch!!

Hope you pass it quickly!!

Take care!

R Addiction 03-19-2003 10:17 PM

OUCH!!! Hope you feel better!

SHARKEY-IMAGES 03-20-2003 08:28 AM

Foul, I hope you're doing better.

I'm still pissing every 15 mins since they pulled that tube out of me.

They get the Stint in about 3 weeks. I think that is what is putting the pressure on me.

I'm almost out of Percecets:eek:
