Default sea sick relief bands?

Has anyone had any experience with these, watch looking things that sell for about 70-100 bucks

From time to time I take beople for boat rides that get a little sick and sometimes the dramamine Is a pain and people often don't like taking it. Question is do these things work or is it snake oil, I think it would be cool to have on board just in case. Plus thety say that you can put it on even if you are alwready sick and it works in minutes I've heard dramamine only works if you take it before you get sick.http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...vice,_Reusable

My EX used to get sea sick once and awhile when we would run offshore. We found the "cheaper" bands like the watch band style you are talking about. They where elastic bands with the plastic pressure "ball" for the pressure points. They worked for her! She would put them on when she started to get a bit nautious, and in about 5 minutes she would feel "OK" it would not totally go away, but it was manageable (she didnt feel like hurling over the side anymore) and we went on our way. They where also cheap, like 10 bucks i think for the bands. I picked up an extra pair for anyone else besides her that was on the boat. I found mine at boaters world I think.

I second what Chrisk said. We used to have them on my dads cruiser years ago for just that occasion. They were just little grey elastic bands w/ a white pressure ball. Worked great for my mom!

Can't speak for the electric ones (does sound like snake oil, though...) but my wife used the elastic ones when she was pregnant. She had bad naseau, and not just in the morning. The bands helped her out on the boat, so much so that she took to wearing them around the house as well. Her ob/gyn told her, if it works, use it.
