Anybody tow with a V-8 Durango???
I am inheriting a 2002 Dodge Durango V-8 4X4 with 3.60 gears and I was wondering if anybody tows with one. My reg tow vehicle is a full size Chevy pickup but that only seats two. Along with with the Durango comes the future wife and two kids.
I only have to tow 20 miles on occasion so it won't be too bad I think. Or I could sell it and get her a GMC Denali .
I have a 24 Baja Outlaw that tows really well on an Eagle trailer.
Thanks,
Dave

Hey Dave, we have a Durango and plan on pulling our 24 Outlaw with it. We have not got that far yet as it, the boat, is still in Gordo's garage while we give it some TLC. I do not think we will be having any problems using the Durango to tow with. We will keep you posted though.
It is either the Durango or the Bug, and I am guessing the Bug is out!

Cool.....
I am planning on setting it up like my truck with cockpit adjustable airbags on the rear to offset the weight. It works extremely well. Let me know if you and Gordo would be interested in a setup like this. I can hook you up with my supplier.
I can raise the back of the truck almost 9 inches and it gives you 1000 lbs extra load capacity over stock.
Dave
P.S. Maybe in a couple a years I can sell you my Whipplecharger for your Outlaw when I upgrade to a 32 footer!!!

I had a 2000 with the 360 pulling a 28 Donzi ZX, I started having transmission problems around 34000 miles and about the same time I started getting a pinging in the motor. I sold my Durango and now have a Chevy 2500 HD that works much better. Good luck.

I have not had any tranny probs yet. (47,000 miles) But the 360 has had a pinging in it since new. The only way it wont ping is to run 92 octane?? Its getting ready to be replaced by a new F-250 6.0 Powerstroke, I am sure it will have a ping too!
