Default Should I take a V-Rod on trade?

Have a customer interested in a new Donzi, wants to trade in a 2003 Harley V-Rod. Been away from bikes along time. Hear the V-Rod is not accepted by the Harley faithful. Should I back away? They supposedley sell new for $18000-$19000. Any thoughts?

It's a nice bike, keep it for a summer driver then unload it in the fall. give him about 13-14 for it.

The die hard HD guys don't even like the evo engine and it's been out for 10 years.

Personally I love the V-rod.

I have been seeing a lot of them on the road lately.

The big problem is they seem to be more of a one person bike. Would not be as good for riding double as other HD's which is why I cannot consider one.

If you can trade for the right price, you should not have any problems selling it.

If I do the deal, may take Lapse's advice, ride it this summer and dump it. My last bike was a 1979 Triumph Bonneville, kick start, should have kept it.

Personally, I love the V-rod. I know the die hards don't like it, but I would think that you could turn it over. You know, Harley's 100th anniversary is this year. If you wanted to make some money you could bring it up to Milwaukee. I'm positive that it would sell over the weekend-provided you don't get greedy.

Magicfloat , just my two cents ok? call a harley shop and get a buy figure. Dealers up my way are getting full list on brand new rods.

This one has 300 miles,a friend just said color has an impact on the price, forgot to ask about the color, I'm a boat dealer, not a harley dealer, didn't know it would have made a difference.
