Corpus Christi or What??
With the rumor that Corpus Christi Race not happening this year,
are any replacement sites being thought of?? any rumors?? |
NOT...
they are working with a few new sites. |
So the rumor is true?
|
The seawall and pit area in Corpus are under construction that will probably not be finished in time for the race. Elaine Motl told us at our last TOPPS meeting most likely not this year, but Corpus would be back on and better for next year.
|
what are the new sites????
|
they should go back to cape cod.
|
Va Beach or Ocean City, get back to the Mid-Atlantic
|
Corpus Christi always makes for a great time, a fun and challenging race and a great race for the fans to see.
As Jana said, due to construction this year is looking doubtful. The good news is that I have no doubt that Elaine and her crew will be back next year with an incredible race venue that will be even better for the fans and racers. As for a replacement race, I would keep your fingers crossed and keep that weekend open. I'm thinking/hoping we are all in for a surprise... |
Look at the other races in that time frame. Those are your options.
Pete, give me a call if you are free, I will fill ya in. |
It's just after Marathon.....head south 50 mile posts.. twice(a year) is always better than once!!!!
Need a Duval fix!!! |
rather than guessing let's let the racers know. we need to make travel plans ect.
|
that was my point, i have heard a few rumors but other than that nothing in stone, i would like to be prepared for travel.

Try coming North a little. it is tough for us guys from Jersey to Keep going south. That is a week of just transporting the boat forget about us the rest of the crew hotels for everybody. It adds up fast. Our closest race as of right now is Savannah and that is a good 14 hr trip just for the boat. Try one of the Jersey Boyz races. They have one that weekend in Point Pleasant NJ. All set up and ready to go. Would be nice since there are probably a good 5 - 10 race teams from NJ anyway.
Give it a thought. |
I am with Dave there is already a race set for that weekend in NJ with big water off the NJ shore. My guess is they already have 40 boats that were not going to Texas. Add another 75-100 boats to that fleet and you will have one hell of alot of boats! BRING IT ON

Sounds good to me...
I've always heard about the Point Pleasant waters being a challenge, I think it'd be fun if APBA and the "Joizy Boyz" can put something together...
|
I love the Point Pleasant race. And with the parents living not too far from there, I may just take that option.
|
PP would be a great race... you know how our boats love the rough stuff...
|
ddf1-70,
I feel for you guys with all the races down south, i wish they would spread out the sites more as well. i think it would put more to the meaning national champion if fortunate enough to win it. |
Best pre race partys at Jankenson, great vewing and the best open water in the Atlantic, PP has my vote nex to Ocean City
