Going to get myself in trouble with this one
 

When this board started I was involved fairly close to the beginning. I ended up forgetting my password so I just reregistered...as #2 but regardless my posts are low, but I've watched for a while. Even then it amazed me how freakin' sensitive people on this board are. I mean c'mon. Most people on this board (even with the smaller boats) have something 99.9 % of the population envys and wishes they had. What is the big deal? I am a former Corvette owner who has listened to all the "small unit" commments etc., but after half the stuff on here, why wouldn't people think that? Every time someone starts a thread even remotely stating something other than the politically correct answer..(ie. a magazine gave an Active Thunder a bad review, a member mentioned that Keith Eickert Motors might have a change, a Fountain has a beak, etc. etc.) there ends up being so much name calling and finger pointing it is absolutely pathetic. It really doesn't do much for our sport/hobby/career/etc. for everyone to see this rediculous crap. In all the Poker Runs I've been in or visited, I've never had any conversations even remotely as childish and pathetic as I've seen recently. Perhaps noone could hide behind a screen name, but I honestly believe that 99.9% of the people involved in offshore boats are there because they love the boats, speed, comraderie, and not because they all have small penises!!

I think the Eickert thread brought this on.....

Anyway, I'm sick of guys with $500,000 boats arguing over God-knows-what....

Most are not however they think they are.

I find that boating is NO different than the drag racing world.
It's a run what ya (brung) < slang) world.

But after the race we all stop and wait for the loser to hang out(and if you are with HI-PERF 2000 you drink NON alcoholic beers) And we would help each other in anyway we can, regardless if my boat only does 70Mph with no beak and your does 120 with a beaK.:D

I think alot of it lately has had to do with cabin fever and the fact that many of us have been unable to go boating. I know that I can't wait any longer. It's going to be 80 today and at lunchtime, I'm going to get a stomach ache and go splash the boat for that first run of the year:D :D :D

P.S. It won't be long and we can all complain about stuff breaking and spending all of our $ on gas!!!

:bunny: I would have to agree with you JROMY2. If you have to type it, take the time to think about what you are trying to say. So many people hide behind that screen name and slander even without knowing it. So grow up and play nice. :chick:

Bingo! "March Madness" has nothing to do with basketball. This is an annual event on OSO, although it has come on later (and milder, believe it or not) than it has in previous years.

If everyone used their screen name as their own name we would not have that problem. If I piss someone off (which I only do behind the wheel of my truck) they can call information for Holland, MI and find me so I play it cool and stay out of it. On the other hand if spring/summer does not get here soon I will unleash the furry building inside of me and you don't want that to happen.

Screen name = boat name with numbers indicating age of boat aswell as myself !!!!!

I do agree about the screen names and "cabin fever." Once you've been on awhile you begin to see the b*tching and bickering, but in between all that are some really good and interesting topics and discussions. :)

Some of the crap is light humor that many of us laugh our asses off at. I hope to see more of the "light" humor and more pictures of boats and informative boat related topics ;) :) :)

I don't think you'll get in any trouble..............look at all the replies!!!!!

Well said. We all have fun when the sun is shining.. so why cant we be nice till boating season hits ...

By the way.. walked down to the lake the other day and saw a big sheet of ice... maybe mile or two wide, by the shore. Next day with an east wind and it was gone..
