This sucks....proxy server at work just blocked OSO
It was only a matter of time....
Now what the hell am I going to do while I'm at work???  :p :p |
Gaspipe.....that blows!! Sounds like it's time to find a new job!!!!;)
I like to browse OSO throughout the day on occasion as well. Hope we never get "big brother" for our web surfing!!! Sorry to hear your news!!!:( :( :( |
I know a guy that can hack it for you.
|
Damn...That's like my worst nightmare. :(
|
Try using the IP address -- http://64.49.220.252
|
And Gaspipe, if that works, first round is on you when we hitch up with Bill! :D
|
I had that happen to me here at work and I had to go sweet talk the network guy. As you can see....it worked!!!!!
|
someone must have told the network admin to block the exact web address you were accessing. you should find out who got it blocked.....someone is watching you......but why???? I would try to figure that out first.
otherwise the direct IP address should work.....until they look into the log and see the activity of that IP address and what it corresponds to.....they will aventually block that. :( sorry to hear that. i block many web sites in my proxy server, and people always try to find a way around it. but usually their managers are the people who are telling me to do it. |
#1 most attemped web address is EBAY
since the war blocked CNN, FOXNEWS, NBC, ect seem News sites are hot now. yahoo, hotmail, just about all mail sites. cant afford a viruses, Also we run windows 2000 and setup desktops so no one can install any software without approval Our first audit turned up many unlicensed programs If this happend again the Fines could be huge. lucky for us a warning and removal was all we received. ITS NICE TO BE IN the IT DEPT :D |
If you clear your records, delete your files, delete your cookies, and clear your recycle bin can the watch dog still tell what sites you have been to?
When you delete this stuff where does it go? |
If you delete the things off of your personal machine they DO delete, but they will still be logged in the server.
if you are connected onto a company LAN (local area network) you use the company Server as a "gateway" to the internet. Everytime someone in the company passes through this "gateway" to reach the internet, the Server logs the occurence with the user name, time, and the site that they reached. For example if i go to OSO's homepage my server will record in it's log that i went on "Offshoreonly.com". Then it even goes as far as logging every picture and link that is on that particular page. So when i log on to OSO i get logged about 30 times within 3 seconds of all the picture names and link names on the OSO homepage....("offshoreonly.com/prop.gif")...etc. |

Somehow I don't think they would listen to me:p hi-perf - I actually think they are blocking the forum software that is used on OSO |
Gaspipe,
I want to try for that round of drinks. :D Try this link at work. http://64.49.220.252/forums/index.php?s= When your click on the forum button off the home page it transfers you to www.offshoreonly.com. When you use the link above it should keep the http://64.49.220.252 in the URL while browsing the forums. bikinilover, The admins can see wherever you go and they can read all your e-mail. If you don't want someone to see where you've been don't go there while at work. From watching our proxy logs I would have to guess that 80% of our internet traffic is not work related. We don't worry about where people go unless their manager complains or they surf porn sites. Porn is the cardinal sin for the work place and we have actualy fired 4 people for surfing it while at work. |
We just added another computer at work so anywhere I go I'm on. :D T1 hookup and all. Just need to add a burner to the new one so I can get my music.;) Maybe I should keep my yap shut!!!
