I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriend's's best friend. We lost one of our goldens on New Years Eve that we got from Golden Rescue 9 yrs ago. We got another golden from Golden Rescue 3 weeks ago are very happy with him. Check to see if there is a Golden Rescue organization in your area. We have been very pleased with them locally and they interviewed us and checked references before they would let us adopt one of the rescued dogs. They usually have dogs from 6 wks to 10 yrs of age available.

Good luck.

Check the Sunday paper pets section. Try to buy one from an AKC breeder. I would stay away from pet shops. I'm sure you will find some in the Sunday paper. Good luck!

Hey how is the  Eye ball?

I had to put our Golden down this past August. 3 1/2 years old and had bone cancer. Our three girls really loved that dog, it was a pretty tough time .

We wanted to replace him as soon as possible and found a breeder that raises show dogs and was able to get a new Golden around October.

I'd check with some local vets for some area breeders. They can usually give some pretty good insite into the various breeders.

Try www.petfinder.com you should be able to find a Golden close to you. Good luck.

Had to put my best Buddy Rudy down last month. That was REALLY hard to do but was the right thing at the time. He was a great companion allways at my side. Had heart attack only 6yrs old. 110lb red Doberman extremely smart and agile dog.

I had to put my German Sheperd to sleep 4/13/93. It was The worst day of my life. To this day I will, on occasion ,get a little misty eyed over it...........Roger

I saw this post yesterday and would not even look at it - outta sight , outta mind. I feel for yall! Get the puppy and she'll start another great bond - BH

It is amazing the bond we dog lovers form between us and our best friends. Incredibly we all seem to like them more than we do humans. My yellow lab Zoe jumps up on me every morning to wake me up. As much as I hate getting up at 5 or 5:30 to play with her, once I am out of bed and awake it is ALWAYS worth it!

I am so sorry to hear about your friends loss. I hope all works out well.
