We just had our contract accepted for 10 acres of land in Haymarket, VA! Neda and I are quite excited. Unfortunatly, we had to go about 10% over the listing price to get it. We are going to get started on the log home ASAP. We are looking at building a 3000+/- square foot home, with a full basement. The property has a nice hill leading up to Bull Run Mountain that we are going to build into. As soon as we figure out the drain field and home site, I will be specing in the boat & toy barn. I am shooting for 50x80, and we will see what happens.

Brown is approximately where the house is going.
Blue is approximately where the toy box is going.

Congrats Brian!! you are now a land owner. That's cool.

Good luck with all your building.

Forgot to add their is a stream across the back acre too. The red easement you see is access to the property behind us.

Thats great news. Is that near Logmill Rd? I have a buddy that lives on Mountian Rd. Get started on that 50x80 as soon as possible, My 30x30 is full:D :D :D

Sydwayz 04-06-2003 11:33 AM

Good luck on the new home project. If you are going to build it your self you better get your mind right before you start, that is a tough project to take on. Start in September that way you still have this summer, your next 2 are gone if it takes you as long as it did me!!

Congrats Bryan. Keep us posted on the OSO house warming party!!!!!!

Sydwayz 04-06-2003 08:30 PM

Thanks everyone. We are going with a turn-key package. We hope to move in by the fall.

Brian Congrats on the new place. Log cabins are cool. Make sure you get plenty of head room in the basement if you plan to finish. Remember to account for plumbing and what not when you figure on required ceiling heights. You would not believe how many people over look this. If you have any questions on the technology wireing let me know and I will help ya out as best I can.

Brian congrats on the house. Now you will need to have a house warming party.:D

Sydwayz 04-07-2003 08:46 AM

Funny you guys keep mentioning it. My intention is to be able to have winter storage for several boats.

CJC 04-07-2003 11:03 AM

Brian, go big or go home on the toy box. Mine is 30X40 with a 14' high door. 40X50 would have been nicer

.....oh yeah, congrats on the house plans too! :D

Hope you already have your plans stamped and a builder contract signed. We started in January figuring that was "plenty" of time before breaking ground in June. We are still srambling to stay on track.

Good luck
Casey
