Default The Ex is on the way! it's Here now

Well looks like the Tahoe will be put out to pasture pulling the Cafe. Ok I know that is NOT an adequate and safe way to travel on our nations highway but I only used it once for 160 Miles on a beautiful Saturday morning (i.e. took off at 5AM) all highway and it pretty much performed has I tough. Scared the **** out of my sober ass and thank GOD no big rigs passed me. Enough said about my mostly common but usually less endangerable laps in judgements.
We be gettin a 2002 Excursion to provide family protective travel and pulling duty. In french it means it's the wife's truck...
So I will now be a Ford owner and this will take considerable weapons out of my arrasing a$$ to Jon and Biggus and all of you Fordage users.
Last thing for you Ford wizzards when they say 9 MPG is that more than 8 and less than 10. OUCHHHHHHHHHHHH

Judging by the mileage #, it sounds like you got a V-10. I have one, and yes, the gas mileage sucks. Other than that, which I knew going in, it's been a great truck.

With my wife putting on a gruelling 8K miles a year Diesel was not warranted, I even have the spreadsheet comparaison to prove it! Besides I want my plate to read DRLANWR first guy that gets it gets a twelve pack!

GLH, good luck with the new truck. I'm sure you'll like it.

My X PSD has about 9000 miles and is now hitting 16 mpg in the city. It can pull anything but do the Helwig Sway Bar for $145.00 and the U code front springs at $125.00 each. It will make a huge difference. You may also want air bags for the rear to keep it tight, for sure if you don't do the Sway Bar. Go to DieselStop.com and go to the X section and learn more about these trucks than the engineers could ever dream up. I just installed cab lights on mine last week to make it different. Have fun.
