Alpha Question
Went to look at a '95 29' Scarab this weekend, which I was originally told had 350 mags and Bravos. Well, they were half right - it has Alphas. Should I be overly concerend about this, knowing that I will be leaving the motors alone?
I have the same combination on my current boat, just not a pair, and my boat is way smaller and lighter. Never had a problem with the drive yet, other than normal maintenance. I don't know how well they hold up on a heavier boat.
Need some more opinions on this - should I walk now, or move forward?

yeahi woudl agree. wit 350s and alphas on a relatively light boat you should be fine. Helli ran an old 5000lbs scarab with a 454 and an alpha for 100 hours and didn't pop it. And it had 250 on it when I bought it.
Grante dit was sketchy but it lived. So you'll be fine.

Thanks for the responses. I figured that was the case, but wanted to get some more opinions on the subject.
Any other opinions on this boat? I asked about it in the Scarab forum, but only got 1 or 2 responses there. Any guesses on speed? I'm guessing low 60's.
