Its the most important guage on my console. Tells you alot about whats going on inside. It does require drilling of the exhaust manifold. Best to have a bung welded on too.

I shouldn't brag ....... Mine came that way ! It has spacers between the heads and exhausts that have threaded ports to screw the probes into . They read a touch hot there as you are in the direct heat of the flame but they get the point across . Idealy you should be about 3-4 inches outside the port in the ehaust tube .

Best thing I EVER put on my Skater. Like was said earlier, it really gives you an accurate depiction of what is going on inside. A few things to remember. Accurate placement is of paramount importance for proper reading. Secondly, install one probe for each bank if possible, then you know what each side of the motor is doing. Lastly, DO NOT cut the wires and READ THE DIRECTIONS READ THE DIRECTIONS READ THE DIRECTIONS! You will not regret having them. Good luck.

I was looking at a boat yesterday that had pyrometers. When I asked questions, the mechanic also talked about oxygen meters or something like that. What are they, where do they mount and where do you buy them? Thanks for the help!
